This past week, I was visiting the City of Denver for a conference titled NDIA E2S2.  The acronym is fitting because the entire conference was full of acronyms (the conference was put on by NDIA, or National Defense Industrial Association, and it was titled Environment, Energy Security & Sustainability, E2S2).  It was a great conference, and definitely not one that I had ever attended in the past.  I was at the conference on behalf of a recent contract with Fort Carson as a Sustainability Coordinator.
The conference was quite fascinating to learn what the military installations are doing across the United States in terms of sustainability.  After attending the conference, I left pleased with what the Department of Defense (DoD) is doing and really leading as an example of sustainability across the country.  With the DoD leading the way with goals and mandates from the President on sustainability, the hope is that others will follow suit.
